To ensure maximum security, the button on each HomePlug AV device in the network must be pushed within 2 minutes of the first one being pushed. More units can be added later, though - details are in the manual. You do not need to reset the whole HomePlug AV network.
These units are sold as singles, you will require at least two to create your network. Both versions of the AV products will talk to each other so long as they are on version 2 firmware or newer.
